A Letter from our President on Plans to Avoid Potential COVID-19 Supply Chain Disruptions

To our valued customers, vendors and employees:

 

United Pallet Services, Inc. has been closely monitoring the Coronavirus (COVID–19) health situation and is working diligently to keep our employees healthy and safe. One of our core values that we live by is “People First” and we take this pledge very seriously. At this time, we are pleased to report that currently none of our employees or their families have been affected by COVID-19.

 

We would like to keep you informed about the measures that we are taking as a company to help provide our employees with proper guidance on good hygiene practices.  These include:

  • Washing hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds
  • Avoid touching one’s eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands
  • Disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces regularly
  • In cases where something cannot be disinfected, wear gloves 
  • Using an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol if soap and water are not available least 60% alcohol if soap and water are not available
  •  

We have also outlined the following necessary steps to avoid spreading the virus if symptoms arise in a team member:

  • If one exhibits fever, cough, or shortness of breath to stay home and call their doctor

 

United Pallet Services, Inc. will continue to monitor developments of the Coronavirus for the purpose of keeping our team well-informed of our plan, while also trying to ensure that there are not any disruptions in the sourcing, management or delivery of our products.

 

Please know that at this time, we feel very confident that we are well equipped to work through this situation without any major disruptions. If this changes, we will let you know as quickly as possible.

United Pallet Services hires Director of Operations

 

We are excited to announce the hiring of Brian Towell as our new Director of Operations here at United Pallet Services, Inc. This is a new position for our company that will serve as the lead for plant operations with responsibility for all production, labor, inventory, quality control and safety measures. Brian will focus his time and attention to maintain and enhance all aspects of productivity, specifically directed at the design, planning and improvement of systems. Brian comes to United Pallet Services with more than 14 years of management experience, with much of that in the 3PL industry. Brian will be a great addition to United Pallet Services and we are proud to welcome him as our newest team member.

United Pallet Services is now part of the USDA's BioPreferred program.

 

We are pleased to announce that we are now allowed by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) to provide wood pallets that are certified as a USDA Certified Biobased Product. Biobased products are derived from plants and other renewable agricultural, marine, and forestry materials. Pallets designed with our help through the Pallet Design SystemTM (PDS) program are approved as 100% biobased and we can now label them as such. United Pallet Services/pointGUARD to Partner with Virginia Tech University's CPULD for PROMAT 2015 Pallet Education Session

 

United Pallet Services, Inc., makers of the pointGUARD Pallet Protector, is partnering up once again with the Center for Packaging and Unit Load Design (CPULD) at Virginia Teach University to present another education presentation, this time during the PROMAT Trade Show, to be held March 23rd - 26th, 2015. With the goal of educating the material handling audience on enhancing the strength of wooden pallets to make them more resusable, the session will be part of the PROMAT Educational Conference lineup that will offer over 100 expert-led sessions conveying a broad array of supply chain, material handling and logistics topics.  Sessions are offered free to the registered show attendees. The pointGUARD® Expands Reach Into Latin America


With the formal signing of the License Agreement with Grupo Mitasa, United Pallet Services, Inc. is now expanding into Central America, Mexico, The Caribbean and South America with it's pointGUARD® product.  Find out more here.

United Pallet Services, Inc., was given the 3rd place award at The Recycling Innovators Forum on August 26th in Louisville, Kentucky. 

 

United Pallet Services, Inc. entered the competition with The pointGUARD, its plastic protection device that attaches to the entry points of a wood pallet. It is made of recycled polypropylene that comes from a post-industrial blend of rigid packaging from the electronic industry. This attachment protects the pallet from forklift and strapping damage.
