Pallet 101: Pallet Basics

There are two basic styles of wood pallets, a stringer design and a block design.  Both of these styles can be custom designed to any size, but the most common is the 48" x 40".  The two images below illistrate how the two styles are different.

Stringer Pallet Design

  • Made with 2x4 stringers or runners that connect the top and bottom deckboards together.

Block Pallet Design

  • Made with 9 blocks that bind the top and bottom deck together. This style provides true four-way forlkift or pallet-jack entry.
